HOOT:
The Real Deal
The Institute of Wildlife Sciences has been involved in providing successful mitigation for burrowing owls and contractors for over 20 years. We have coordinated and assisted international and regional airports, commercial contractors and private owners with their burrowing owl issues.
Our goal is to mediate between contractor’s needs and the owl’s biological needs in order to assure that issues are resolved and all parties are winners. The most important recommendation is to be proactive and remedy the issues before they arise. Lack of wildlife surveys and planning may create unnecessary challenges for contractors and burrowing owls.
