Tesoro Bald Eagle Nest
This bald eagle territory was protected through the efforts of the Ginn Co. while developing a Golf course community in Port St. Lucie, Florida. In an effort to maintain the integrity of the territory, the Ginn Co. and Audubon of Florida, have joined forces to monitor the success of these special bald eagles.
Individuals and students around the world are viewing the Audubon of Florida and Ginn Company’s eagle cam. Please click on link below to see the eagle cam.
The Institute of Wildlife Sciences has joined this incredible effort and added this territory to our continuing research to monitor the dispersal and movement of south Florida’s fledged bald eagles. On March 3, 2008 in a collaborative effort, one eaglet (named “Birdie”) was fitted with a satellite transmitter to monitor the movement after it fledges from the nest.

Eaglets (Birdie and Bogey) peeking out as we survey the nest to determine the day we will fit one with a transmitter. On March 3, 2008 we fitted one of the eaglets with a transmitter.
